Randy Harrington is the founder and CEO of Extreme Arts + Sciences. Harrington brings a deep background in strategic planning, management, and media communications to his clients around the world. After completing his doctorate in organizational communication from the University of Oregon in 1992, he began his consulting career. He immediately saw the need for clients to create stronger alignment between strategy and action with the use of advanced digital communications and high performance teams. This is the fusion we now understand to be “Digital Strategy” and it is the hallmark of what we deliver at Extreme Arts + Sciences.
Over the past 20 years Harrington has delivered hundreds of keynote speeches and more than 100 strategic planning meetings. He continues to work with clients in financial services, health care, government agencies and municipalities, and global high technology firms.
Harrington is an avid guitarist, cook, and scuba diver. He makes his home in Eugene, Oregon with his wife, Patty.
Eric Duerr

Eric Duerr is a founding partner of Extreme Arts + Sciences. Trained as a jazz musician, with degrees in philosophy and business, he brings a fresh perspective to today’s digital landscape. Eric carries the firm’s mission of fusing media, business, and social studies to develop deeply researched, deeply understood ideas.
For the past decade, Eric has been at the forefront of the convergence of media and technology – putting into words and strategy its long term effects for businesses and consumers. He’s worked extensively with Microsoft and other large organizations such as the United Nations and Amazon.com. He has also advised numerous agencies including WPP, IPG, and Publicis.
An avid runner and connoisseur of northwest microbrews, Eric makes his home in Seattle with his wife and baby girl.
James Alvord

James Alvord is a partner and the Chief Operating Officer of Extreme Arts + Sciences. James has a deep understanding of digital marketing from both a technical and strategic perspective. Prior to EAS, James has held positions at Microsoft, Groove Networks and several agencies in Boston.
When not at work, James enjoys spending time with his family in North Scituate, MA and surfing near his home.
Jackson Hataway Ph.D.

Associate Consultant Jackson Hataway holds a PhD in Organizational Communication with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from the University of Alabama. He joined Extreme Arts + Sciences to pursue and share the lessons he has learned about organizational behavior and cultural barriers to excellence.
Jackson’s focus is strategic planning and “long view” communication design. He has worked with Extreme Arts & Sciences on the University of Mississippi School of Business Speaker’s Edge Program, and is managing projects and planning processes with a variety of Extreme Arts + Sciences clients.
In his free time, Jackson enjoys traveling with his wife, playing golf, and strumming away on the guitar to all the classics. Jackson resides in Portland, Oregon with his wife.
Rhonda Hobgood

Rhonda Hobgood is the Business Manager for Extreme Arts + Sciences and holds a degree from Emory University. Trained as a philosopher, group leader and paralegal with years experience working in international mergers and acquisitions in Zurich, Switzerland, Rhonda activates a wide range of strong skills and knowledge in order to support each individual team member and the business as a whole.
Rhonda speaks and writes German fluently and lives out her passion for yoga and the wilderness at home in Seattle, Washington with her dog and EAS office companion, Sammy.
Colin Keogh
Associate Digital Strategist & Project Manager

As associate digital strategist and project manager at Extreme Arts + Sciences, Colin helps develop the vision and strategic thinking around projects while also being closely involved in the production and delivery. By being part of the end-to-end process, Colin is able to maintain consistent and coherent messaging throughout each project.
Colin holds degrees from both the University of Oxford (MSc) and Brown University (BA), focusing his studies on marketing, organizational studies, and entrepreneurship.
With an affinity for staying active, competition and water sports, Colin successfully competed in rowing at both universities. When not sailing or rowing, Colin can be found barbequing or creating his next homebrew at home in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Peter Kim

As Lead Producer, Peter Kim is responsible for the helping turn the client’s vision into reality. Working closely with the consultants, Peter carefully orchestrates teams of top designers and film-makers to produce ground-breaking work. Peter works in a personal yet highly professional manner and has worked with corporations such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, various financial services and smaller credit unions nationwide.
Peter enjoys taking to the kitchen, avidly orchestrating ingredients to create original, gourmet meals for his family. Peter was previously a member of the United States Taekwondo Team and makes his home in Seattle, Washington with his wife and baby girl, who has given him a new zeal for life.
Ryan McShane

Ryan McShane is a digital strategist and senior consultant at Extreme Arts + Sciences specializing in technical strategy. He has a deep technical understanding of enterprise systems and cloud based architecture models. He has worked extensively with Microsoft and has advised other clients including Hewlett-Packard, The Virgin Group and WIPRO.
Prior to EAS, Ryan worked as a management consultant for The Lucas Group, a Bain & Company spin-off. There he focused on private equity due diligence. He holds a BA in Commerce Organizations and Entrepreneurship from Brown University.
Ryan makes his home in Seattle, WA where he owns his own sailboat and enjoys sailing the waters of Puget Sound during Seattle’s picturesque summers. During winter he trades ocean for mountains and skis avidly in the Cascade mountains.
A.J. Peper Ph.D.

A.J. Peper is a digital strategist and senior consultant specializing in education and development. A.J. has worked extensively with companies such as Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, and Yahoo! to create change by understanding the grounded reality of everyday business practices and working with Leadership Teams to identify the needs, business opportunities and strategies for durable change. A.J. holds a B.S. in Economics with a minor in business, a Masters degrees in Educational Leadership and Public Administration, as well as a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Having a lifelong passion for sports and dogs, A.J. is an active trial/training helper at the Cascade Schutzhund Club, as well as a classified decoy in the United States of America Schutzhund Club. Originally from Sunnyvale, California, A.J. resides in Seattle, Washington.
Kelly Smith

Kelly Smith is the Executive Assistant for Extreme Arts + Sciences. She helps manage client relationships and project contracts. Kelly comes from a corporate travel and logistics background and holds a BS in Recreation from the University of Oregon.
Kelly enjoys travel, the outdoors, and the natural wonders and bounty that are Oregon. She lives surrounded by them in Eugene.
Troy Stange

As lead graphic designer at Extreme Arts + Sciences, Troy Stange has designed and produced print, branding, video, games, event graphics, public and private facing websites and SharePoint sites. He has also worked with many regional, national and international companies on a wide array of design projects. His 18 year career in design and direction gives him an intuitive and logical approach to solving design problems recognized by his many award winning designs.
Troy is an avid martial artist with 2 black belts and lives in the Caribbean with his wife and two kids.
Carmen Voillequé

Carmen Voillequé is a senior consultant at Extreme Arts + Sciences and specializes in strategic planning, leadership development and organizational change and comes from a background in education psychology, adult learning, and organizational development. Before joining the Extreme Arts + Sciences team, Carmen spent three years directing the learning and development organization for one of the largest financial institutions in the state of Oregon. Under her leadership the organization won two national awards for best industry practices in leadership development and employee training. Carmen is also a gifted professional speaker with over fifteen years of experience.
Most recently, Carmen has been working with leaders from the Oregon State Government, Travel Oregon, Bluetooth SIG, Microsoft, the Federal Judicial Center in Washington D.C., the Oregon Commission for Children and Families, and a variety of credit unions and financial institutions across the country.
When not working, Carmen enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter. Carmen and her family make their home in Portland, Oregon.
Charlotte Webster

Charlotte Webster, CPA is the CFO of Extreme Arts + Sciences, and has 15 years of experience within the accounting and finance field. During her career, she has overseen a variety of functions including financial planning, general accounting and revenue recognition. Charlotte holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Oregon.
Outside of accounting and finance, Charlotte enjoys fishing off the Oregon coast and cheering for the University of Oregon football team. Charlotte lives in Eugene, Oregon with her family.
