Carmen Voilleque

Senior Consultant, Speaker

Carmen specializes in adapting academic and theoretical knowledge from her background in education psychology and rhetoric to the real-time realities of the high-speed business world. She has a special talent for developing and facilitating high-energy experiential learning programs that are customized for each client. She is also a gifted public speaker with over fifteen years of experience. Carmen offers services in the areas of leadership, management, diversity, communications, and organizational development, as well as curriculum planning and design for internal corporate development programs.

Before joining the Extreme Arts & Sciences team, Carmen spent three years directing the learning and development department for one of the largest financial institutions in the state of Oregon. There, Carmen was recognized for her natural talent in building strong and dynamic teams. She was able to bring a fledgling training program with inexperienced staff to a level of performance that won national awards for best practices in leadership, management and employee development.

Carmen is not only smart, she’s tough. Carmen’s background as a former educator in some of the Bay Area’s roughest urban high schools served to hone her experience in dealing with tough audiences. During the years she spent working with at-risk teens, she was recognized as a star educator and often asked to provide workshops to train other teachers in urban environments. She brings an edgy, but humorous and professional style to her teachings, and can work with almost any group. Carmen also draws heavily from her academic past where she spent ten years in competitive public speaking, including collegiate speech and debate, and mock trial competitions in law school, where she was awarded Best Oral Argument in front of the Ninth Circuit Federal Court in California.

Most recently, Carmen has been working with leaders from Microsoft, the Federal Judicial Center in Washington D.C., and a variety of financial institutions across the country.

Carmen’s educational background includes a BA from the University of Oregon with Honors in Political Science, and a Certified Credential in Secondary Education, Community College Adult Education and Education Psychology from San Francisco State University. Carmen also attended law school at the University of San Francisco and most recently participated in an MBA program for Organizational Development with Walden University.
