Catrin Rode, PhD

Decision Science Consultant

Catrin specializes in applying theory and science involved in the decision making process to complex business challenges. Her ability to translate her expertise about social cognition into a professional setting gives her unique and valuable insight into the practice of business interaction. Facilitating complex strategic planning, overcoming change resistance, analyzing and resolving difficult strategic decisions, and risk communication are just some of the services she offers.

Prior to her arrival at Extreme Arts, Catrin spent time as a member of the R&D team of a Swiss software and consulting company. There she developed programs to support strategic decision-making techniques of Fortune 500 companies and she worked with clients such as Bayer and Porsche

Catrin’s presentation style is straightforward and eye opening and her speeches are filled with a series of epiphanies that leave her audience with a more complete view of the thinking process. She brings to the EAS team a field of expertise previously lacking and is already creating waves with some of the company’s largest corporate clients. And because of her desire to remain close to her educational roots, Catrin is also an adjunct professor in the psychology department at the University of Oregon.

Catrin was born and raised in Germany. She received a Ph.D in Psychology and Decision Making from the University of Muenster and a master’s degree in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Konstanz. Ever interested in how people solve complex problems and make decisions when faced with uncertainty, she continued her study at the highly respected Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin.
